Nano, day 15

Yeah, I'm late. My sleep schedule is wonky.
Anyway, 30,000 words! 30,177 to be precise. Still in Chapter 4, because Kagami won't tell me when I hit chapter 5. It was supposed to be "Dragonfly", but I have no clue what it's going to be now, because I don't know if I can get Daisuke to show up. And this novel is definitely getting away from canon. Bleh. Or maybe not bleh.
Last night's efforts (Chapter 4, part 3) and tonight's efforts (Chapter 4, part 4) should be up at the master post shortly.
This thing is going waay AU. One of the best things about setting this story as AU is that I get to see how the writers might have been putting the various conflicts together, and how removing just one thing makes trying to follow their storyline rather hard.
I've mentioned before the problem with Yaguruma, and I'm having a similiar problem with Kagami. He has no need to give up TheBee Zecter to become Gatack, because HQ isn't ordering him to kill Tendou. And because he's head of Shadow, they think he has more important things to do than be chasing Tendou about. The same problem is going to come up with Daisuke, since of course ZECT would be not killing him either. Tsurugi's storyline isn't going to change as much, as he's closer to the semi-independent agent that I envisioned the more freelance hosts to be.
One thing I've introduced in here that Kagami thinks about in the most current part is that Shadow hasn't seen as much action since Kagami became in charge. This is because his supposition about why they're not seeing action is partially correct. Shadow isn't seeing action because HQ wants TheBee to chose someone else, and they think the enforced quiet will make TheBee choose someone more useful. But it's not because he's Kagami Riku's only son; it's because he's got the wrong Zecter and they're trying to fix that.
As usual, we'll have to see.
