Den-O ep 39 raw discussion - spoilers

Spoilers for Kamen Rider Den-O 39. Like, major spoilers. Skip this if you want to remain unspoiled.


So, Den-O 39.

Yuto was a Jr High student in 1993? That would place him as a 26 year old (12 + 14 years) at least, and he doesn't seem that old to me. Maybe I'm not that familiar with pre-Jr High uniforms and he's younger.

Two Imagin this episode. Three, really, but the third doesn't fight AFAIK. One gets destroyed by Momotaros after Momotaros has to redo his pose. He doesn't get to the past but Ryotaro goes anyway with Hana and sees Sakurai-san the elder.

The second one gets Yuto's science teacher from way back when. And flies into the past, right to the day where Yuto of the past and his classmates are on a field trip. Unfortunately, in the massive confusion, Younger Yuto grabs his telescope and huddles near the van, which blows up. (Of note, this is the first female Imagin we've ever seen.)

Present Yuto then disappears kind of like Sieg was doing, except this is on a human and is rather disturbing. Ryotaro gets all pissy, goes very vengefully into Liner Mode, and exacts revenge on the Imagin. Everything else reforms *but* Young Yuto, and therefore future Yuto.

So, right now, Yuto does not exist, who knows what's going on with Zeronos. Or Sakurai-san, since his younger self was killed. (Those cards were a freaking gamble, and Yuto certainly lost!)

Next week's preview has somebody in the new Zeronos form, as well as Deneb possessing Ryotaro and taking up residence on the DenLiner.

I don't think it's too far-fetched to have Yuuto in his late twenties. I mean, Airi is 22, and ~5 years isn't that big of an age difference in a relationship. Disappeared!Yuuto always gave me the vibe, too, of being substantially older than Ryoutarou, especially considering he apparently had changed enough so that Ryou wouldn't recognize his 17 year old-self (Note: I don't actually know where the Wiki got that age, but Yuuichi Nakamura is 20, so...). Now, of course, given that we're supposed to buy middleschool!Yuuto looks just like Rider!Yuuto, I find it hard to swallow 24-ish!Yuuto looked *that* different. But I digress.

My point is, this entire causality-loop thing is getting to be SO CONFUSING, especially because Yuuto's timeline is *so crucial* to the plot, and yet it's so unclear. On the one hand, I feel like he *has* to be back, because I'm pretty sure unraveling his story is the key to figuring out at least most of what's going on. But on the other hand, it's not KR if characters don't unexpectedly die... And we are getting towards the end. (*sob*)

Here's something that is a puzzlement to me, though: Why did all of Airi's patrons suddenly become women? I thought the hanging out was *entirely* about wooing Airi, and therefore wouldn't the men still hang around? I mean, I realize the flowers might be a little off-putting, but.

Oh, another factoid: Apparently Yaguruma was 27 the whole time? (Tokuyama Hidenori was 24.) So... I'm not sure that 27 year-olds in the KR universe actually have to seem like they're 27.

See...the Yuuto we know, is in his own past. Hence Ryoutarou doesn't recognize him at first...because the "Sakurai-san" he knew was quite a bit older And probably didn't have dark hair, a Imagin butler or an attitude
