I keep looking at
starandrea's puppy pile matching meme, and... well... no PR plot bunnies. :(
So, instead, cracky!fluffy!Kiva!puppypile-ish fic, featuring Wataru, Taiga, and Mio. Spoilers inside.
Title: On His Shoulders
Author: Estirose
Fandom: Kamen Rider Kiva
Summary: Taiga is lucky to have those he loves.
Pairings: Slight Taiga/Mio
Spoilers: 38+
Rating: 8+
Taiga had to admit that knowing what Wataru was in some ways was a great relief. Somehow it made so much more sense that Mio would have fallen for his little brother, because, of course, Wataru was Taiga's little brother, and cute little brother to boot. Sure, Taiga would have preferred his mother to have cheated on his father with another Fangire instead of a human if she had to cheat on him with anybody, but he wouldn't trade Wataru for the world.
And with Wataru there, Mio was resisting things less. Knowing that she had two people to protect and love her seemed to make things better for her. She was becoming the Queen that Taiga knew she could be, and Taiga was slowly convincing her that he was her intended partner, not Wataru. With Wataru so close, he wasn't so worried about Mio. And with Mio there, with him there, Wataru could accept the heritage he'd apparently never known he had.
Two people, neither of which he'd trade for the world. His Queen and his baby brother. For once, everything seemed to be going right.
Mio was smiling at Wataru, over something he'd said, apparently. It was wonderful to have them together like the family he'd never had. His mother had betrayed the Fangire so long ago that he'd never known her, his father was dead, and Wataru had been hidden. Now he had what mattered to him most.
He studied the two, watching them interact. The two most important people to him in the world. As King, his job was a lonely one, and they helped fill it. The three of them - once Wataru was awakened enough to be Fangire - would have centuries together. Evenings like this, together, like the world outside didn't matter.
Taiga got up, and headed over to the other two. "Mind if I join you?" he asked. He didn't need to. He was their King, he really didn't need to ask. And their eyes, their smiles, said they didn't mind.
So he sat between them, reaching out to put his arms around their shoulders, brought them close to him so that their bodies warmed his. Mio leaned against one of his shoulders; Wataru leaned against the other. It was right, how things should be.
Smiling, Taiga let out a happy sigh as the three of them rested together.
