I think I bit off more than I could chew with two novels this year. Oh well. Usually I'm motivated. This year I seem not to be. So, to keep up with NaNo, primary novel "Late Bloomer" will continue and if I get up enough, I'll write little bits and pieces for #2, "Song in a Painting". (Which is the one, incidentally, I asked for advice on.)
I've also signed up for Yuletide. I'll be making my DYW post public late Monday.
Anyway, on top of everything else, I have a plot bunny from Kiva. This has spoiler for 39-40 from the summaries I read, is very short, and doesn't realize that November is NaNo, dangit!)
He had to do it.
Wataru could still sometimes be foolish. He had to be one species or another, not be stuck in the middle like he insanely seemed to want to be. Wataru was not one of the human cattle, therefore, he had to be Fangire. He held the power of Kiva, and the Zanbat sword. That proved that he was one of them.
So, he ordered Bishop to awaken Wataru's Fangire side, his Fangire blood. Once Wataru was dependent on feeding on humans, he would come to understand Taiga's view of things. Then the two of them would be true brothers, and they would defeat all humans that would dare rise above themselves and threaten the Fangire.
They came to where the Fangire that Bishop had sent to execute his errant mother had said he'd be, knowing that Wataru might come after it. While Bishop promised that the Fangire wouldn't try to execute Taiga this time, he still didn't like using dead Fangire as puppets. The change would be easier to effect if Wataru was in the Kiva armor, using the connection to his Fangire ancestry.
He hadn't expected to see Wataru being attacked by a human in the IXA armor, nor the two with sniper rifles aimed at his little brother. His blood boiled. "We need to get down there," he told Bishop. Bishop nodded, assuming his true form and disappearing in specks of light. His teleport was more limited, so he had to go further.
By the time he was able to get to the scene, Bishop had blown IXA's user away. Striding over, he was reminded of how vulnerable Wataru was, of how he had trusted humans so much.
Well, no more. The humans had assured that.
"Bishop," he said, looking at his brother. Soon Wataru would understand.
Bishop poured the power into Wataru, bringing out his Fangire blood, and then Wataru jumped out to attack the snipers.
In all, it was good.
