I... don't know really how to list this without spoilering things. It has spoilers for Decade 4 and also for the entirety of Kiva. It's my theory on why certain things happen the way they do in the episode's universe. It really has more to do with the universe and less with the Decade storyline.

Title: Heal the Lonely Heart
Author: EstiRose
Fandom: Kamen Rider Decade/Kamen Rider Kiva
Spoilers: Episode 4, Decade/Entire series, Kiva
Notes: See above. Tsukasa and the Decade characters do not appear. Happens prior to the events of episode 4.
Summary: There is a lonely prince living in Dran....
Word Count: 454

Wataru stared out the window of Castle Dran and thought of the people below. Here he was, one of the most powerful people of Japan, and yet nobody really understood how lonely he was. He had the help of Garulu, Bashaa, and Dogga, and Bishop and Rook, and even Kivat, but none of them understood him. Well, Kivat tried, and tried well, but even he couldn't heal Wataru's heart.

He gazed up at the portrait of his parents. His Fangire mother, the Queen; his father, the human musician who had captured her heart and turned the world upside down.

Now, Fangire co-existed with humans and fed off energy that didn't require killing. His mother had made sure of that, starting up the company that had created the Life Energy substitute. Then she had died defending him, and he was alone.

Half human. Half Fangire. King. Well, Prince. The Queen's son, likely to manifest King's Mark when he was old enough. The Fangire Elders had tested him, and declared him King, his Mark due to manifest in puberty.

Personally, Wataru wouldn't mind it not manifesting at all, so that he could be normal, one of the people below. He wished that he'd been ignorant of that heritage, normal, playing violin like his father had, without a care in the world.

He imagined himself living in that world below, playing violin, living in his father's house, performing for a living. But he was born to a Queen, and had inherited King because his father had killed the prior King. So someday he was going to be the King, even if he didn't want to be. The first half-human King of the Fangire.

His mother and the others had told him of his older half-brother Taiga, who should have been King, had he not died before Wataru was even born. Wataru wished that Taiga had lived, so that he didn't have to be King, just King's younger brother.

But he'd never have that fantasy. He'd never live that normal life. He'd be the King of the Fangire some day; he'd marry Queen, whenever she got her powers. She'd take over her own duties, relieving Rook of some of that burden. And someday, they'd have children too, just like the Kings and Queens for eons before had done.

Right at the moment, he'd trade everything to be Taiga's younger brother, Maya and Otoya's son, the ordinary boy. Just like some others, he knew, would love nothing more than to live his life. He'd gladly give it to them, but they'd probably want to give it back.

As tears ran down his cheeks, as he stared down at the ground below, he decided to run away.
