I thought of doing a poll for this, but it seemed too... limited.
Anyway, Ghostly (the new archive) is so far going great! I love the plugins Wordpress has. There are some minor flaws (Categories are for the most part in alphabetical order, but if you clicked on one of the tags at the end of the post, the stories wouldn't be in order; the front page needs work). But I'm looking forward to putting together a whole archive that includes things like story notes, Character pages, and so on.
Of course, now that I'm catching up on archiving, I'm facing a slight problem.
To put it kindly, 2008 was not a good year for me, and so my fic got a bit weird in some places. I tackled rape, genderbending, incest, and mpreg (not all four in the same fic!) in 2008. Also, I occasionally write adult fic, sometimes explicit, sometimes fade-to-black. And slash. (Along with plenty of het and gen.)
I also have this really nifty "related posts" plugin that gives you stories that the plugin thinks might be of interest. It makes some really... interesting suggestions. It has a sidebar widget, with limited space for conveying anything other than the fandom and some of the summary.
I don't want people to hit a fic with their squicks by accident.
Here is a sample listing that I pulled off the sidebar, for a fic that does have a bit of a sex scene in it:
! Konoe Shika, Kiyoe's great-grandmother, had her own encounter, years...
(And if you are under your country's age of majority, please do not hunt down that fic. I don't want your parents getting ticked off at me.)
But yeah, I don't have a lot of space for putting in warnings. And when your fics might have incest and mpreg in the same fic (do not ask. really), one sometimes has to come up with creative things. Color doesn't seem to be working, so I might have to come up with a variety of symbols. What, I'm not entirely sure. However, that exclamation point is a bit hard to see, so I'm thinking of a 2-3 character symbol to catch the eye.
Which means that I should probably figure out a) what to warn for, and b) what symbols/sets of characters might catch the eye. I will have a page explaining the symbol sets, but....
Um... help?
