Doncha Hate That?

"Why," Richie demanded to the empty room, "Did I get stuck doing this?"
Duncan and Tessa had gone out, and while he certainly didn't *mind* the show of trust on both their parts, he could have been someplace else. Like anyplace else.
But the two of them needed a break, especially Duncan as of late. Richie sometimes wanted to be an Immortal, but most of the time, not. Seemed like more trouble than it was worth.
The quiet was making him antsy. He could be doing anything at this point. Anything more exciting.
Including the guy crashing into the shop window. Richie tensed, wondering if it was an Immortal or an ordinary person, but blinked when the figure pulled out a gun.
Mortal or not, Richie found himself laughing.
"Stop laughing and give me all your cash!" the figure yelled.
Richie started thinking, trying to find a way to resolve this without having a broken display taken out of his paycheck.
"I've seen people a lot more threatening than you," he taunted. "*Way* more threatening."
"Shut up!" the masked figure replied. "Money or...."
He grabbed Richie, trying to put the gun to Richie's head.
Which was a mistake to do to someone who hung out with Duncan MacLeod, Immortal Extraordinaire. He tossed the robber over his shoulder, landing him just outside the shop.
Just in time for a police car to drive up, and the police officer inside to exit and run towards the scene. "Oooh, don'cha hate that?" he asked the robber.
Of course, it meant a lot of questioning by the police, and explaining to Duncan and Tessa why the store's front window was shattered (again), but at least his day wasn't as boring as it started out to be.
