pr_icontest, which is a contest for Power Rangers icons for the Tokusatsu fandom(s).
How it works: Each week, the maintainer(s) give the participants a theme, whether it be color, emotion, lyrics, or something else. The participants make icons over the course of a week (they have to be new icons), and post them so that only the maintainer(s) can see them and make sure they follow the rules. Then the maintainer(s) post them up and the community votes on their three choices. The maintainer(s) count the vote, post up the winners, and often make banners for the winners. One doesn't have to make icons to be a participant in the comm.
The pros: It would be nice to see more Tokusatsu icons.
The cons: It's one more thing to do (I already do the Thursdayfinalauraburst entry, among other things), and there's a heck of a whole lot more Tokusatsu than there is PR.
