Okay, my turn to nab a meme.

First fandom you wrote for: Starman.

What year was it? 1987. (No, you are not misreading that, I've been writing fanfic off and on for… about 16 years.)

Why you chose this fandom? At the time, I didn't know what a fandom was – I just wanted to write something on how Scott ended up in the orphanage. I would meet fellow Starman fans about a year later or so.

Were there any particular authors that first pulled you into the fandom (and do you still recall their names?) Nope. Started writing before I knew what fan fiction was, what a fanzine was, what a fandom was….

Do you remember the first story? Oh, gads. "Scott's Secret".

Do you remember your first beta-reader? Sort of. She was a grad student writing a paper who kinda became a friend.

How do you feel about that first story? Well, at least my grammar at 14 was better than most current 14 year olds'….

Why do you like or dislike that first story? Hm. I really don't like it or dislike it. It's just an artifact of my past.

What did you learn from that story? That I should write more.

What one story from that fandom are you most proud of? The last one I wrote, "Random Acts of Kindness", which was a crossover with The Tomorrow People.

What did you like most about this fandom? Very close-knit. Very welcoming.

What did you like least about this fandom? Don't remember. I just drifted away at some point.

Are you still active in this fandom? Nope. Get yearly postscards from a friend, but that's it.

What was the second fandom you wrote for? Highlander

What year was it? 1994.

And why did you chose this fandom? Well, it was very early on and there was a dearth of fiction.

What was the first story you wrote for the fandom? Hrm. Good question. Dates on the archive seem to indicate "Death, Undying" followed by "Change of Perspective". Wow, "Change of Perspective" is newer than I thought.

How did you feel about that first story? I'm very proud of it, actually. It was a good fic. It stands up. Helps that I took a break in writing plus I was a creative writing major at that point.

And your beta reader? I didn't have one. *wince* I didn't know you needed one.

What one story from this fandom are you most proud of? I'd have to say "Change of Perspective", just because it was groundbreaking.

What did you like most about this fandom? The mailing lists were warm and welcoming. The stories were interesting.

What did you like least about this fandom? Don't know. Know that I wasn't big on the slash.

Are you still active in this fandom? Nope. Read some fic still, but not really.

Any other fandoms that you wrote for or are involved in? Forever Knight, Sliders, Earth: Final Conflict, Tomorrow People, and Power Rangers. Only really currently active in Power Rangers fandom.
