NaNoWriMo back cover blurb

I posted this on a thread in the NaNoWriMo forums, and thought I'd post it here, as well.
Fear of failure....
They are all neighbors. An anxiety-ridden former bureaucrat. An alien family and their adopted human son. A Japanese woman who wants to escape from her past. And two teenagers who are more than they appear.
In a world made nearly empty by a succession of events, Marie Brown must pull together an odd group of people who are new arrivals to her dimension. But Marie, a former bureaucrat who was diagnosed with anxiety disorder three years before, is hardly the best choice for the job, and she'll tell you that herself.
When a teenager's desires divide her newfound neighborhood, Marie must face her own fears and keep things from completely falling apart.
That may be more than she can handle....
This whole thing will make Marie a bit more anxiety-ridden than she appears in both her original story and the New Dawn/Fandom Isle versions of her, but she should still be recognizeable. Since my goal this year is to write a novel featuring almost entirely of my OCs, it'll be interesting to see how the characters develop as my perceptions of them alter/have altered.
