Kiva ep 9 (and 10 preview) raw spoilers

So, this plot involved a very dark violin (that I'm having to wonder was an influence on the Bloody Rose) on the 1986 side, and the 2008 side involved a mentor brought in for Wataru.

Oh, and in the last 5 minutes of the episode, we do get to see IXA. It's a nice henshin, actually.

So, what I got from this episode (with the assistance of various summaries and such):
* Wataru's having a crisis over his violin-making. I'm not sure if he just can't make normal violins, or if he's trying to replicate Bloody Rose. (Of note, as I've said before, I think Bloody Rose does have blood in it - Wataru's or his mom's. Possibly Otoya's as well.)

* Otoya continues to be an ass at the Cafe. He also doesn't like Jiro.

* On the other hand, the rest of the regulars like Jiro just fine, thank you very much. In fact, per the OZ subs for 8, Yuri's fallen for him.

* Yuri and Jiro go to an auction for a violin. Otoya gets in on the action. Jiro knocks him out.

* The mentor for Wataru certainly has very sensitive hearing. And doesn't like rock. And does something that doesn't make sense when Nago attacks him.

* The monster of the week... well, you can probably guess. Does Wataru attract Fangaire or something?

* While fighting the MotW, Otoya gets tossed into water... and he also gets to see Jiro's true nature. An the three helper monsters in human form.

* Last week, Ramon (Bashaa) reminded me severely of Ryuutaros. This week, the third helper monster shows up in human form in 1986 and reminds me severely of a more flamboyant, awake Kintaros. Which would make Jiro a calmer Momotaros. (Urataros he ain't.)

* Another commercial for Climax Deka this week, this time starting with Ryoutarou saying "Fangaire?"

* The mentor for Wataru this week is played by the fellow who played Faiz's Murakami. From what notes I've seen, he might be a good guy.

A bit of speculation here. A lot of people have been wondering if Otoya is Megumi's father. Well, here's something to think about: what if that father is Jiro?

(Incidentally, the Jiro/Yuri potential romance is kind of interesting to me, given that Jiro's actor is 36 and Yuri's actress is 17, and I can't help wondering how old Jiro is....)

XD Ooh. A Kin, eh? Seems interesting.

How old is Otoya's actor/character? His character kind of makes me think of a mix between Urataros and Tsurugi.
