The interactions between Jiro and Otoya are fascinating. I thought a fic with them having to cooperate would be interesting.

"I can't believe that we're stuck like this," Jiro groused. It wasn't good that he was chained up, it certainly wasn't good that it was by a Fangire, and he definitely could have done without being chained up to Kurenai Otoya, idiot extreme.
Okay, maybe not an idiot, really. The man knew how to fight, though Jiro was fortunate he hadn't shown his skills in front of Yuri, who seemed to like fighters. As long as Otoya kept out of his life and didn't disrupt his time with Yuri, he didn't have a problem with the man.
The man in question was attempting to reach his chains with his mouth for no good reason. Jiro himself didn't smell anything other than old waste, like nobody had bothered to clean in years. Which, given his luck, they probably hadn't, leaving Jiro vaguely nauseous.
Otoya gave up for the moment and mumbled something, scooting closer to Jiro. Jiro wondered what possessed the man and thought best not to ask. He might get an explanation. "Worfletuffle," Otoya said, motioning up at his manacles. Jiro resolved to ignore him.
And then Otoya tried to spit something at him. Jiro pulled back as Otoya seemed to grasp something a little better in his mouth. "Murfletuffle oy shsfle!" It was too bad Jiro couldn't shuffle too far away.
Otoya bared his teeth, cocking his head, and Jiro at that moment realized that Otoya was holding a key - possibly the key to their manacles - in his mouth. "Do you know where that's *been*?" he asked. He had no desire to touch the key now that Otoya had practically eaten it, not to mention all the germs from before.
"Murfletuffle," Otoya said in response. This time he motioned at his manacles. "Murfletuffle urg murfle oy shsfle."
Jiro tried to make sense of the words. "You can't reach your manacles." What Otoya wanted him to do with the key, he couldn't guess.
A mumble of assent from Otoya, and then a motion with the key in Jiro's direction, and then back towards his manacles. "You want me to unlock your manacles." It made a horrifying sort of sense. Otoya couldn't reach his own manacles, and Jiro couldn't reach his own manacles, but maybe he could reach Otoya's, or vice-versa. "Why don't you unlock mine, and then I'll unlock yours."
As soon as he found something to wrap around the key, of course. There was no way he was touching it otherwise.
Otoya seemed to ponder things, but even he wasn't foolish enough to leave himself manacled up with a Fangire ready to suck the life out of him, so he strained up to Jiro's manacles. Jiro was sure some saliva was dripping on him as Otoya manipulated the key. After a few agonizing minutes, and several dribbles later, he was suddenly free. He thought about leaving Otoya there, but the man had just saved him, and besides, if anybody was going to kill Otoya, it would be Jiro, not some random Fangire.
He delicately took the key from Otoya's mouth and wiped it on his jacket. Not his first choice, but he'd do what he'd have to. He unlocked Otoya's manacles, and pocketed the key.
They'd be out of there soon, and they'd beat the damned Fangire. And then he could go back to courting Yuri.
