And finally gotten inspiration on this one. (Oddly enough, been trying to rescue a Wataru out of a similar situation in
kamendressing.)
Title: Pawn to Queen (part 4)
Author: Estirose
Fandom: Kamen Rider Kiva
Rating: 8+
Summary: Wataru's gotten himself in trouble, again.
"Wataru-kun," Taiga-kun said, "I'd better take you to Bishop. I think he'd be a lot less... twitchy if he didn't have to chase after two Queens."
"But Taiga-kun knows where I live," Wataru said. "And Bishop-san didn't seem to have any trouble finding me."
Bishop was going to be a problem if he could track Wataru. Taiga-kun was going to be an even *worse* problem if they bonded, but Bishop seemed to be the kind of person that was extremely persistent.
"Bishop oversees the Fangire," Taiga-kun said. "He'd be a poor one if he didn't keep track of his... flock." He smiled at Wataru. "Want lunch?"
"Lunch?" Wataru asked, thrown for a moment.
"You look like you're about to faint. Besides, this way, I can answer questions, you can calm down, and then we can go to Bishop."
"Taiga-kun, there's got to be a mistake," Wataru insisted. "I'm not Fangire. I'm male. I can't be your Queen."
Taiga-kun frowned, and Wataru wondered if he'd get a lecture on the fact that he was Fangire and Queen again.
"Explain that to Bishop," Taiga-kun said, thinking. "Or. Hm. Give me your hand. No, your left hand. Not your right."
Wataru sheepishly gave Taiga-kun the correct hand. Taiga-kun concentrated, making a tattoo appear. "You're a Queen, all right," Taiga-kun said. "Bishop's never wrong, and he's the one that told me you have to be bonded." He paused. "Apparently he thinks you could be a trouble-maker."
"I don't *mean* to be," Wataru said, automatically replying with the first words that came to mind. Somewhere in there, he had to escape. "It's just... I don't feel worthy of being Taiga-kun's Queen."
"Apparently," Taiga-kun said dryly, "Neither does Mio. Which is why you could do it; you could be there to *support* one another."
"I... I need time to think," Wataru said, looking over at Taiga-kun. "I promise not to run."
He didn't want to break his promise to Taiga-kun, but he needed to talk to Kivat.
Taiga-kun smiled. "I know you won't," he said. "Here, I'll leave my Sagarc with you, while you make up your mind."
Wataru winced. The last thing he needed was Taiga finding out through his Sagarc that Wataru was going to run. "Taiga-kun, you don't...."
"He needs to see that you're not going to cause me problems," Taiga-kun said meaningfully. "He's not very happy at you right now. Besides, you need to get used to him, too."
"Oh. Right." He and Kivat would have to ditch the Sagarc somehow. He wasn't sure how, but....
"And in the meantime," Taiga-kun said, pulling out a cellphone, "What's your cellphone number?"
"Wouldn't bonding make that a bit redundant?" Wataru wondered.
"No," Taiga-kun said. He smiled. "It's a very useful human invention, Wataru. We might as well make use of it."
Wataru had not wanted to ditch his cellphone, but he might have no choice. He rattled off his phone number.
