I'd ask this in the little details comm or the NaNo forums, but I figure I have enough people who know about this kind of thing. (Oh, and hi - frantically catching up my double NaNo this weekend!) Maybe someone can give me an idea what to do with the action sequence.

Background: In this novel, there are two people who are King and Queen of their species. Now, this species is rather infertile, and so the powers of the two Royals has evolved to force them together (cause them to seek each other out initially, keep them near each other, make sure they produce the next generation). While the King and Queen tend to come from certain bloodlines, nobody knows who they are until they awaken into their powers.

Well, in this generation the King and Queen are half-siblings. King is okay with this (or would be if he knew), Queen is not keen on either incest or marrying King, because she hates him, well, with the heat of a thousand suns. Because if they don't consummate their relationship they'll both go insane and die, King is very much looking for Queen. Queen, on the other hand, sees it as a perfect way to kill him, even if she dies in the process.

What I'm trying to figure out: King and Queen end up in the same park. King recognizes Queen for what she is and embraces her (he has no clue that she hates him), thinking it's great that he's finally found his Queen; she, on the other hand, knows that she's outclassed in terms of power at the moment and wants to get away. Now. She'll let the bond kill him instead. Complicating things are the fact that when they touch, she's swept up in the feeling of togetherness that their bond compels.

So, anybody have any ideas on how to get through this scene? He's not going to hurt her; she doesn't want to provoke him, she just wants to get away. (It's almost like he's an amorous drunk, except he's not drunk on anything except being with his Queen.)
