I didn't notice this until I rewatched 38, but Taiga's definitely dropped the honorific off of Wataru's name ever since he knew that Wataru was his little brother.

Summary: Wataru tries to make sense of things.
Wataru walked down the street, trying to make sense of it all. Ever since he'd found out that Mio-san was Fangire, everything had been happening so fast. Soon after he'd found out about Mio-san being Fangire and Taiga-kun being Saga, Taiga-kun had brought them to his mother. Who happened to also be Wataru's. Now, Wataru had his mother back, in a way, and an older half-brother he'd never known.
An older half-brother who saw humans as food. Never mind that Wataru was half-human himself, Taiga-kun wanted him to be more Fangire. To be a true brother. To be something that Wataru couldn't be. Why was peace between the two species that he'd been born to so impossible? Shima-san had believed in it.
And now Mio-san wanted him to kill Taiga-kun, something about him being King and ruling over the Fangire. He didn't want to kill Taiga-kun; he didn't want to lose one of the few living members of his family, misguided though Taiga-kun was. He would change Taiga-kun's mind; it just might take a bit of time. He didn't think he could be the King of the Fangire, even if he was Taiga-kun's half brother.
He wanted everything to work out; why wasn't it? Why did Taiga-san think that peace was impossible? Why could humans believe when the Fangire King didn't? Did Mio-san know more than he did, why did she want Taiga-kun killed?
And why was he in the middle of things, when all he wanted was both sides to get along?
The sidewalk offered no answers, but he kept walking anyway.

Summary: Wataru will save others from his own failures.
Wataru had run until he finally had no choice but to stop, the excess energy from Bishop's blast finally integrating itself with his system. He continued to stumble along until he reached MachineKiiva, tiredly mounting his motorcycle and driving himself home, praying that he wouldn't run into anybody until he got home. If it hadn't been for
Nago-san's quick thinking, two people he considered friends would be dead at his hand.
Kengo-san had tried to kill him; Nago-san had told him beforehand that he'd been ordered to be killed, but he was relieved to find that his friends were true and spared his life. If only he'd been as true! His body had been out of control, just like he'd attacked those in the castle when getting Zanvat. If this was being Fangire was like, he'd gladly trade it in to be more human.
But that didn't stop the fact that the armor, his body, had gone out of control. And it wasn't just the armor; it was his body as well. He couldn't be trusted around anyone. Well, other Fangire, maybe.
He parked the motorcycle in its place and went inside, locking the door behind him, placing a barrier to him hurting anyone. He would live. He would make violins. And never would he befriend anyone else again, because it had only brought pain and heartbreak. He'd nearly killed Megumi-san and Nago-san. Taiga-kun was his friend before they ever knew that he was family, and Taiga-kun had... had....
"What am I now?" he asked the air. He slumped down on the couch in his workshop. "What did he *do* to me?" He remembered the man that Taiga had addressed as "Bishop" chanting, hand against Wataru's chest, just before he'd gone insane. Energy had coursed through him, taken him over.
But it hadn't been just Bishop there.
He'd known that for some reason, somebody with the ability to give orders in the Wonderful Blue Sky Association wanted him dead. But he'd had friends there, friends who'd backed him up, saved him even from himself. And then... And then....
"Fangire," Kivat said. "Your Fangire blood is dominant."
Wataru hid his face in his hands. "Taiga-kun...." Taiga-kun had been the one to order Bishop. "Why did Taiga-kun do this to me?"
"You hold Kiva," Kivat said. "You wield Zanvat Sword. You carry part of King's power. Why wouldn't he want to have you on his side? Besides, in some ways, I think he wants to protect you. Making you Fangire makes that easier for him."
"But I'm not Fangire," Wataru said. "Or human." Both and neither, he was.
"Wataru," Kivat said near his ear, "Sometimes Kings have to make decisions that hurt one person but are better for the entire species. Plus, you are Taiga's younger brother. I think, in a way, he did it out of love." Kivat's tone was gentle, but Wataru still shivered. "But he also had to reign in your power. Kiva is originally a Fangire armor, after all."
"But... I don't want to be Fangire," Wataru objected. "I don't want to eat humans." He couldn't go out anymore until he sure the humans around him were safe. Then he'd go back into the world, hide himself, return to
what he'd been before he'd met Megumi-san. Because it was safer for people not to know him.
Kivat just sighed. "So, what do you do now? Now that you've got others, they're not going to let you hide."
"Yes, they will," Wataru said. "Because I can't hurt them. Or be them." If he hid long enough, they'd eventually leave. "They'll go away."
"You have a bounty hunter who no doubt can pick locks on one side, not to mention a King that no doubt has a locksmith on call," Kivat pointed out. "They're not going to let you just live like this."
Wataru curled up on the couch, mentally resolving to deal with that later. Much later. "Someday," he said, "They'll have to."
