Trent sat at the warm fire, Kira dazing by his side... or, more accurately, leaning on him. He was glad everything was quiet. The new year had arrived, and everybody had celebrated, and Kira had wisely not had any caffeine. Unlike the rest of them.

But that meant that Trent was awake and Kira was asleep, and he was not moving any time soon. He brushed a lock of hair out of Kira's face, leaning in to kiss her.

As his lips touched hers, she awoke, smiling drowsily at him. "This is so cliche," she said.
