Obviously I should not consider writing Kabuto/Kiva crossovers right after watching Decade. I'm also a bit rusty with Kabuto. *facepalm*

He ran into Kamishiro Trurugi after word got through to him that they had yet another human in strange armor fighting against Fangire. The King, of course, was responsible for ensuring the safety of his people, and Taiga was a good King as Kings went. So, Taiga went to where one of his subjects had reported the problem, looking for a soba seller who was more than he seemed. He was reasonably sure it wasn't an operative of his foster-father's association, unless Wataru hadn't been told, which was possible. But he hoped for his foster-father's sake that it wasn't.

His subject had described the soba stand very well, so Taiga didn't have any problems locating it. He saw the old man sitting nearby, waiting, but didn't heed him much mind. The person who had attacked his subject was young; this man was not young.

So, instead, he went into the soba stand to see if the owner was the one attacking his people. The outfit matched, so did the age. "Hello!" the young man said cheerfully.

"I'd like...." But Taiga was lost. He wasn't sure of what to ask for.
"Whatever it is, I stand at the top of making soba!" the young man said, punctuating his words with enthusiasm.

Taiga blinked. "Are you also on the top of killing monsters?"

"I stand at the top of everything," the seller said cheerfully. "Including killing monsters."

So he was responsible for the deaths of Taiga's people. Taiga nodded. "Kivat," he said.

"I've never heard of that kind of soba," the seller said, "But whatever it is, I'll stand at the top of making it!"

Kivat the 2nd swooped in and Taiga caught him easily, plucking him from the air. "You'll stand at the top of *nothing* if you insist on killing my people," he growled. "Henshin!"

The soba seller made a face, catching something in his hand, and producing an odd-looking sword from nowhere. "Henshin!" He was soon in armor as well, an equally-odd purple suit that looked like it was made for underwater use but also reminded him of a scorpion.

The two of them stepped away from the stand, and the soba seller gave the old man a glance. The old man nodded and stepped into the soba stand. Taiga hoped he was good at running it. "As King," Taiga said, "I declare my Judgement. Death."

"I am Kamishiro Tsurugi, the man who will replace god with the slash of a sword," the soba seller replied as he got in position, waiting for Taiga to attack. Taiga noted absently that it was almost like a fencing position before he came in to attack.

The two of them swung at each other for a few strokes before Taiga was aware of another person. "Nii-san, no!" Wataru was calling. "Don't hurt him!"

Taiga stopped, making sure the other would stop too. "What do you mean, Wataru?"
"He's not even from our world," Wataru said. "He fell here because of some dimensional collision. Nii-san, he needs to go back to his world." Wataru was panting, and Taiga wondered how far his little brother had run to deliver his news.

"He was killing our people, Wataru," Taiga said. "I've declared my judgment. It's my duty to the Fangire people."

"Fangire?" his opponent questioned, sounding mystifed. "You... are not Worm?"
"What's a Worm?" Taiga asked, mystified as well. He stepped back, knowing Wataru would not have interfered if it hadn't been necessary. "Whatever it is, we're not it."

"I am the man who stands at the top of killing Worm," Kamishiro pronounced proudly.

"Whatever it is," Wataru said, "You have to go back home now. You have to go back to fighting Worms."

The fighter nodded, detransforming. "I will be the man... who stands at the top of returning home."

Taiga nodded back, detransforming as well. "Then we'll help you," he said. "Whatever it takes."

Kamishiro Tsurugi nodded, and the old man came out from behind the soba stall. "Jiiya," he said, "We shall feed them lunch."

"Yes, bocchama," the old man, Jiiya said. He smiled the way only a kind old man could, and Taiga found himself ushered back to the soba stand and being handed lunch.

He sighed and fed Wataru his bowl as well.
