The King's Chocolate
by Estirose
c 2005
He'd never had chocolate before.
The being that looked like a young man in a red shirt smiled at the person he'd taken it from, smiled in the most mischevious of ways. This... chocolate was good and easily addictive, but not as much a danger for him, since he wasn't human.
His shield easily deflected another attack as the human he'd stolen it from tried to come at him again. He yawned. Humans, so predictable. He continued eating the chocolate, taunting his opponent. He'd win, of course. The human had no idea of what he was dealing with.
Of course, the King knew. He briefly thought of assuming his real form for the man's benefit, but decided not to. It was more fun to let the human try to strike at what seemed to be a defenseless young man, and try to get the thought through his puny brain that he wasn't dealing with another human.
He let the other watch as he savored the human treat, hoping that he could provoke the man into attacking him once more. Maybe do something exciting. Humans could do some pretty *interesting* things, he'd learned from his time among them. Some very *pleasurable* things as well. Very pleasurable things.
The other was staring at him. Interesting. The King tried to predict what he'd do next. Humans were either very predictable or not predictable at all, and this one... he'd thrown some interesting punches. Not that they'd ever hit their target, of course.
"This is good," he said. The man watched him suspiciously. Maybe he'd become too cowardly to try to attack. Boring.
"You should have some," he offered, taking it out of his mouth and offering it to the other.
The human stared at him some more.
"Have it your way, then," the King huffed and turned away. Maybe the man would strike again, maybe he wouldn't.
The King wasn't worried. He had his chocolate.
